Create a Survey from Scratch
Creating a survey from scratch gives you complete control over every aspect of your survey. Start with a blank canvas and build exactly what you need.
When to Use This Option
Choose “Start from Scratch” when you:
- Have specific questions already planned
- Need a custom survey structure
- Want full control over the design
- Don’t need a template as a starting point
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Navigate to Create Survey
- Log in to your SurveyReflex dashboard
- Click the “Create Survey” button in the top right corner
Click “Create Survey” from your dashboard
Step 2: Select “Start from Scratch”
On the survey creation options page, you’ll see four options:
- Start from Scratch - Create a blank survey
- Use a Template
- Clone Existing Survey
- Create with AI
Click “Start from Scratch” to continue.

Step 3: Enter Survey Details
You’ll be prompted to enter basic information:
- Survey Title - Give your survey a descriptive name
- Survey Description (optional) - Add context for respondents

Step 4: Choose Team (Optional)
If you belong to any teams, you can choose to:
- Create the survey under your Personal account
- Create the survey under a Team account
Select the appropriate option and click “Create Survey”.

Step 5: Start Building
After creating the survey, you’ll be taken to the Survey Builder where you can:
- Add questions
- Configure settings
- Customize branding
- Set up logic
