Publishing Your Survey

Publishing makes your survey live and ready to collect responses. This guide walks you through the publishing process.

Before You Publish

Ensure your survey is ready:

  • All questions are complete
  • Settings are configured
  • Preview looks correct
  • Logic works as expected

Publishing Process

Step 1: Navigate to Publish

From your survey:

  1. Click the “Publish” tab in the top navigation
  2. Or click “Publish” button in the builder

Step 2: Review Your Survey

The publish page shows a summary:

  • Survey title and description
  • Number of questions
  • Current settings
  • Any warnings or issues

Step 3: Choose Response Limit

Select how many responses you want to collect:

Step 4: Complete Payment (if needed)

If selecting a paid tier:

  1. Choose payment method (Stripe or PayPal)
  2. Enter payment details
  3. Complete the transaction

Step 5: Publish

Click “Publish Survey” to make your survey live.

After Publishing

Once published:

Survey Status Changes

Your survey status changes from Draft to Published:

  • Green “Published” badge appears
  • Survey is now collecting responses
  • Share link is active

A unique URL is generated:

  1. Copy the link to share
  2. QR code is available
  3. Embed code is provided

Monitor Responses

Track responses from:

  • Dashboard (response count on survey card)
  • Results tab (detailed responses)
  • Analytics tab (charts and statistics)

Free Tier

Every survey includes a free tier:

  • 25 free responses included
  • No payment required
  • Perfect for testing or small surveys
  • Can upgrade later if needed

Upgrading Response Limits

If you need more responses:

  1. Go to survey Details or Publish tab
  2. Click “Upgrade”
  3. Select a higher tier
  4. Complete payment

Response Limit Notifications

SurveyReflex notifies you when:

  • 75% of responses used
  • 90% of responses used
  • 100% of responses used (survey pauses)

What Happens When Limit is Reached?

When you reach your response limit:

  1. Survey automatically pauses
  2. New respondents see “Survey Unavailable”
  3. Existing responses are preserved
  4. You can upgrade to continue collecting

Publishing Checklist

Before publishing, verify:

Content

  • Survey title is clear
  • Description explains the purpose
  • Questions are final
  • No placeholder text remains

Settings

  • Access type is correct (Public/Password)
  • Messages are customized
  • Expiration date set (if needed)
  • Email collection configured

Response Plan

  • Response tier selected
  • Budget approved (for paid tiers)
  • Distribution plan ready
